Maria Galvan, an English and Social Studies Teacher at Ramsey Junior High School, was selected as the 2013 Jaycees' Distinguished Educator of the Year.
The Northside High School Jazz Band will host the second annual 'Band Camp or Bust' benefit concert on March 12 at UA-Fort Smith's Second Street Live Stage in Fort Smith.
Beard Elementary earned the prestigious honor of being named a "Lighthouse School" by Franklin Covey's Leader in Me program. One of only 35 schools in the entire world to hold the distinguished title, Beard now join the ranks of other "Lighthouse schools" who serve as models of leadership and mentors for Districts around the world.

Dennis Burton, Chaffin Choral Director, was selected as the 2013 Distinguished Choir Director by the Arkansas Choral Directors Association.

Superintendent Benny Gooden delivered his presidential address at the 1st General Session of the 2013 National Conference on Education in Los Angeles.
