Rachel Davis, a senior at Southside High School, was honored with the 2012 Siemens Award, recognizing her as a national Advanced Placement (AP) Top Achiever.
Sixth graders from Fort Smith Public Schools attended the 11th annual Earquake! concert on February 4 at the Fort Smith Convention Center. 
Cee Cee Mings, a business and COE teacher at Northside High School, was selected as a winner in the Mrs. Baird's Baking Company "Teachers on the Rise" program. She was named the secondary level recipient after being nominated by her student Alma Garza. 

To help ensure success among its Latino student population through parent involvment, Fairview Elementary School has begun hosting special gatherings for its Latino parents known as "Cafecitos." 

Spradling Elementary School celebrated Book Day on January 25 with a day full of costumes, contests and reading.
