Howard Elementary School celebrated the end of the school year with a special "Ecofest" that helped make connections between ecology and economics for its students.

The Northside High School Grizzlies Men's Soccer team defeated Springdale High School on May 17 to capture the 2013 7A Soccer State Title.
Wes Carson, a senior at Southside High School, has been selected as the 2012-2013 Gatorade Arkansas Boys Soccer Player of the Year.
The 2013 edition of Good Things are Happening in Fort Smith Public Schools is now available online and in print. 

Leigh Ann Hasley, an English/Journalism teacher at Northside High School, was recognized as a Mrs. Baird's "Teacher on the Rise" for the month of April.

School Board meetings are held on the fourth Monday of each month at 5:30 p.m. in the Service Center Auditorium, located in Building B of the Service Center Complex, 3205 Jenny Lind Road. The meetings are open to the public.
