FSPS and its Partners in Education celebrated the holiday season with many activities and special projects. 

Marquita Carty, a math teacher at Northside High School, was recognized as an Arkansas Teacher of the Year (ATOY) finalist at the 2013 ATOY Award Ceremony in Little Rock on November 28.
Fort Smith Public Schools choral students recently competed at the 2012 All-Region auditions. Students from Chaffin, Darby, Kimmons and Ramsey Junior High Schools and Northside and Southide High Schools earned spots in the All-Region Choir, including several first chair placements.
In November, students from Fort Smith Public Schools competed at the All-Region Orchestra Auditions. Ninety-four junior high and high school students earned chairs, including 17 first chair placements. 

The National Board for Professional Teaching Standards has recognized 14 Fort Smith Public School Teachers as achieving National Board Certification, bringing the District's total to 87 educators who hold the prestigious designation.

Board of Education

School Board meetings are held on the fourth Monday of each month at 5:30 p.m. in the Service Center Auditorium, located in Building B of the Service Center Complex, 3205 Jenny Lind Road. The meetings are open to the public.
