As part of an effort by the Fort Smith School district to be more involved with the community, district officials hosted around 60 over 60 Fort Smith residents who are interested in learning more about area public schools and the city itself.
With an eye to the future, the Fort Smith School District hosted the iCan Career Fair for students from Chaffin, Darby, Kimmons and Ramsey junior highs on Nov. 7.
As part of an initiative by the Fort Smith School District to welcome diverse guest speakers to schools, Fairview Elementary School students experienced an inspired visit from children’s book author and illustrator David Catrow Oct. 2.
The Fort Smith Junior High Robotics Team, featuring members from Chaffin, Darby, Kimmons, and Ramsey Junior Highs, visited four different elementary schools on Wednesday, Oct. 11, for a demonstration of their current projects.
Fort Smith Public Schools will provide a free shuttle to the Northside football game this Friday, Sept. 29, and to subsequent Northside home football games.
The shuttle will pick up in the parking lot of Kimmons Junior High, 2201 N. 50th St. FSPS staff will monitor the Kimmons parking lot during shuttle service times.
Shuttle service begins at 5:30 p.m. and goes until 10:30 p.m.
