Free Summer Meal Program to Begin June 6

Fort Smith Public Schools know that good nutrition throughout the year is important for growing and learning. Beginning June 6, the District will offer the Summer Meals Program to provide area children with an opportunity for regular and healthy meals during the summer months.

Every weekday, lunch will be served from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm at nine schools throughout the District. (Except July 4.) These include Ballman, Barling, Carnall, Howard, Pike, Spradling, Sunnymede, Tilles and Trusty Elementary Schools. All young people, ages 1-18, can participate in the program and eat lunch at no cost. Parents may eat lunch for $3.25.

Breakfast will also be served from 7:45 am-8:30 am at Pike, Sunnymede, Tilles, Spradling and Trusty Elementary Schools at no cost to any child ages 1-18. Parents may eat breakfast for $2.

The Summer Meals Program will end August 5.
