OGE Energy Corp. (NYSE: OGE) awarded seven Fort Smith Public School teachers OGE Teacher Grants this fall. The company awarded 35 grants across the company’s service territory in Oklahoma and Arkansas. OGE Energy offers the grant program to support teachers and schools in its communities.
Maureen Austin ($953) from Bonneville Elementary School, Laura Davis ($971.30) and Amy Markham ($1,000) from Chaffin Junior High School, Jennifer Howald ($274) from Woods Elementary School, Misty McGatha ($976) from Howard Elementary School, Wyann Stanton ($1,000) from Euper Lane Elementary School and Melissa Wesson ($930.28) from Cavanaugh Elementary School received grants for their projects.
OGE Energy has funded more than $370,000 in grants since launching its Teacher Grant Program in 2003. The program is available to public school teachers from pre-kindergarten through grade 12. Applications for project grants up to $1,000 are typically available at the beginning of a calendar year for funding the next school year.
