City Council of PTAs Present Awards

The Fort Smith City Council of PTAs hosted its annual choice awards on May 10. The council recognized individuals and schools for their PTA service and programs. The following awards were presented at the ceremony:

Children's Champion: Gary Brooks, Euper Lane Elementary School
Unit Development: Kimmons Junior High School
Safety Award: Fairview Elementary School
Family Life Award: Darby Junior High School
Outstanding Elementary Project: Fairview Junior High School
Outstanding Secondary Project: Chaffin Junior High School
Wallace Floyd Award: Sunnymede Elementary School
C.B. Garrison Award: Northside High School

The Fort Smith Council of PTAs links local school units to the community, to the state and to the nation. It’s purpose is to build stronger and more effective PTAs, and to broaden and deepen the public understanding of home-school cooperation.

BOARD OF EDUCATION

School Board meetings are held on the fourth Monday of each month at 5:30 p.m. in the Service Center Auditorium, located in Building B of the Service Center Complex, 3205 Jenny Lind Road. The meetings are open to the public.
