Danielle Turner, a fourth grade teacher at Woods Elementary School, was selected by Mrs. Baird's Baking Company as the April elementary school "Teacher on the Rise." The program recognizes three area teachers each month based on nomination essays submitted by their students. Turner was nominated for the honor by her students Meredith Atchley, Jeffrey Roberts and Lakin Scott.
Turner was awarded a $250 Walmart gift card and a $150 prize package from KISR. She also received a basket of Mrs. Baird's products and baked goods. Each of the nominating students received a $50 Walmart gift card for their submission.
meetings are held on the fourth Monday of each month at 5:30 p.m. in the
Service Center Auditorium, located in Building B of the Service Center Complex,
3205 Jenny Lind Road. The meetings are open to the public.
