Fort Smith Hosts FBLA District I Fall Leadership Conference

On October 1, more than 1,600 Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) members representing 38 schools from the Western Arkansas/Arkansas River Valley area attended the District I FBLA Fall Leadership Conference on the UA-Fort Smith campus. Fort Smith Schools were well-represented with members, advisers, and guests from Southside, Northside, Ramsey, Kimmons, and Darby present. Dr. Benny Gooden extended greetings to the group as current American Association of School Administrators President.  

Service project representatives from Arkansas Children's Hospital, March of Dimes, and Make-A-Wish and student leaders from Northside and Southside were among those presenting informational/motivational workshops.  

Senior High District Officers include Truc Tran, District Secretary, Northside; Pedro Guiterrez, District Treasurer, Southside; and Rebecca Roebuck, District Parliamentarian, Southside. Kelley Todd, Southside business teacher, is the Senior High District I FBLA Coordinator.  Middle Level Officers include Sydney Lee, President, Darby, and Nick Rincon, Vice President, Ramsey.

School Board meetings are held on the fourth Monday of each month at 5:30 p.m. in the Service Center Auditorium, located in Building B of the Service Center Complex, 3205 Jenny Lind Road. The meetings are open to the public.
