Northside Students Medal at State Competition

The Northside High School’s SkillsUSA team recently competed in the SkillsUSA Leadership and Skills State Championships in Hot Springs, AR. Two team members, John Spradlin and Luis Esparza medaled in their respective categories. Spradlin earned the gold medal in Carpentry, making him the Arkansas State Champion and a contestant in the National Championships during the summer. Luis Esparza won silver in the Electrical category.

Charles Mackey, SkillsUSA team sponsor, complimented the winners and their teammates, noting that it was many of the students first time to compete in this event. "Every member of the team scored well," said Mackey. "Seven of the ten members were first year participants. Additionally, their behavior and representation of Northside was exemplary."

School Board meetings are held on the fourth Monday of each month at 5:30 p.m. in the Service Center Auditorium, located in Building B of the Service Center Complex, 3205 Jenny Lind Road. The meetings are open to the public.
