Southside Volleyball Wins State Championship

The Southside High School girls' volleyball team won the 7A State Championship at the State Volleyball Tournament on November 2 in Russellville. Southside defeated Bentonville High School, winning three matches against the opposing team with the following scores respectively: 25-15, 25-18, 25-20. They were undefeated in the conference. 

This is Southside's eighth state championship in volleyball. Team members include: Gabby Hernandez, Jensen Hunt, Aliyah Jackson, Drew Jones, Mackenzie King, Makayla McCarthy, Chloe McKim, Sarah Moore, Tina Nguyen, Briana Northington, Catherine Owen, Nikki Parker, Bri Phillips, Caylee Phillips, Mia Robbins, Lexi Robertson, Helen Sayre, Madison Shrum, Torrie Smith, Sarita Stegall, Marika Stiles, Andee Tiffee, Jamie Tipton, Lavonae Vann, Alyssa Wallace, Brieann Waller, and Claire Wilson. 


The team is coached by Steve Haaser and assistant Natalie Throneberry.

School Board meetings are held on the fourth Monday of each month at 5:30 p.m. in the Service Center Auditorium, located in Building B of the Service Center Complex, 3205 Jenny Lind Road. The meetings are open to the public.
