Arkansas A+ (AR A+) Schools has selected Howard Elementary School amongst nine other schools to join the AR A+ network for the 2014-2015 academic year.
Beginning in 1995 in North Carolina, the A+ Schools have spread to Arkansas, Louisana, and Oklahoma as an innovative way to teach young minds and is "nationally recognized as an effective, research-based strategy for sustainable school reform."
Being a part of the Arkansas A+ Schools network involves commitment to cross-curricular integration of the arts. Howard's faculty will go through ongoing professional development (beginning this summer) to learn how to incorporate the A+ Essentials which include: Arts, Curriculum, Experimental Learning, Multiple Intelligences, Enriched Assessment, Collaboration, Infrastructure, and Climate.
