Bands from Chaffin, Darby, Kimmons, Ramsey, Northside and Southside proudly represented FSPS in the ASBOA (Arkansas School Band and Orchestra Association) Region VIII Marching Contest on October 25. Twenty-one schools from throughout the region participated in this year's contest, hosted at Northside's Mayo-Thompson Stadium. 

Fourth grade students from Orr Elementary School learned about civics and city government first-hand on Thursday, October 25, as they took a trip to downtown Fort Smith to visit with government officials and tour city facilities. 

Fort Smith Public Schools earned the number one ranking among mid-size school districts in the netTrekker Search Digital Learning Awards Program.
Garry Rickard, AdvancED Team Lead Evaulator, stated that Fort Smith Public Schools are “recommended for accreditation with highest honors” by the review team.
Elizabeth Peters, a teacher at Belle Point Alternative Center, was recently awarded a grant by OG&E Energy Corporation for her project "The Sunflower: Teacher Forgiveness."
