The Fort Smith Public Schools Partners in Education (PIE) Program hosted its annual awards luncheon on May 31 at the Convention Center in downtown Fort Smith.

The Fort Smith City Council of PTAs hosted its annual choice awards on May 10. The council recognized individuals and schools for their PTA service and programs.

Shawna Morganflash, a teacher at Woods Elementary, was selected by the Mrs. Baird's Baking Company as a February "Teacher on the Rise."

Arkansas Scholars is a partnership project between the Fort Smith Chamber of Commerce, the Fort Smith Public School District, UA-Fort Smith and Sykes Enterprises.

The Cavanaugh Elementary School K-Kids Club hosted its official Charter Ceremony on February 22 in the school's media center.
