Projects

AAA”- Attendance, Attitude & Achievement.  Each student must meet the qualifications set in each category in order to qualify for an End of the Year Reward Field Trip. Winners below: Kiley Robinson, Mackenzie Gordon, Roger McClure and Michael Railey

Pen Pals - This program is geared towards the 3rd grade students to help them to learn and achieve their writing goals.  It was rewarding for  both the students and the business partners.

Shoes That Fit
- The business partners and teachers donated NEW shoes to be kept at the school for children who were in need and could privately go choose a new pair of shoes.  This was done only after a consent form was signed by the parents.  At the end of the year the shoes that were left over were donated to a needy organization.

Quilts in Life
- Quilts are made by business members then donated to the Children's Emergency Shelter.  We have several students at Beard that resided at the shelter and this gives them something of their own.  Beard's art teachers work with the students to make quilt tops and our business partners make the quilts.

Christmas Trees at the Mall -  The upper grades made decorations for Christmas Trees that were displayed at the mall.  The trees were sponsored by the business partner.

Testing Week Rewards -  We started a program to encourage the students to be present during testing week in the spring.  This greatly reduced the need for test “make ups”.  The students earned a ticket for each day during testing week.  At the end of the week they were able to redeem the tickets from the prize boxes.  They were also rewarded with treats.
