Fort Smith's First K-Kids Club Established at Cavanaugh
With the help of the Fort Smith Comissary Kiwanis Club, students at Cavanaugh Elementary School have joined together to form Fort Smith's first-ever K-Kids Club. The primary goal of the club is to teach children leadership through service. Students learn responsibility and the importance of volunteering by participating in community service projects.

The Cavanaugh K-Kids Club held its first official meeting and officer installation ceremony on December 7 in the school library. Members were presented with new t-shirts and were asked to sign the official K-Kids Club pledge. Local Kiwanian Chuck Raney announced the slate of new officers and read aloud their duties and responsibilities. The officers are Megan Jowers, President; Lexis Baleto, Vice President; Breanna Padilla, Secretary; Declan Roberge, Treasurer; and Ethan Owens, Sergeant at Arms. The group is sponsored by Alyson Mason.
