I would like to take the time to thank The Adult Education Center for helping me and others to get the opportunity to further our education.
After, being laid off from Riverside Furniture 10 years of service back in January 2009.
I was pleased to be able to go into a different line of work, after attending and receiving my Certificate of Completion at The Fort Smith Adult Education Center for 1 year and February 2010 I then went 4 months at a Vocational School in Terrell, Texas, called, Associated Training Service, were I learn how to operate Heavy Equipment and receive my CDL Truck Driving Training. Upon finishing my course I receive my Certificate of Completion in Level 1, Level 2, Level 3, CDL Truck Driving and NCCER Certificate.
When returning back home to Fort Smith, Arkansas, I was able to get a Truck Driving job through Warren Enterprises, in Dallas, Texas. Later on this same year I prayed to be able to get a job local that i can be home every night with my kids, and the Lord answered my prayer.
Throughout this ordeal I am pleased to say that I am proud to work for The City of Fort Smith Transit Department as a Bus Driver. I have been employed now for 1 year and I am a full time employee.
I urge everyone that lost their JOBS its pays to go back to SCHOOL, get a Higher Education or go to a Vocational School and learn a TRADE.
If I can do it so can you!! Listen, I was the only girl at the Vocational School in Terrell, Texas and was able to get a job when I got back home.
There were others that went to the same school in Texas that I worked with and they were there before me and I got a job before them.
It is all about Determination and Willpower.
DON'T GIVE UP YOU CAN DO IT!
