Scholastic Book Fairs are very exciting for students of ALL ages!!!  It is also a great fundraiser for our Howard Elementary Library.  We are having a special contest this week in the auditorium.  Students are bringing their spare change to vote for the "All Star Baby"!  Different teachers are displaying their baby pictures and hoping the students will vote for them.  The money we collect will be matched by Scholastic for books for the library.  Our partner in education, Gerber, will be collecting change for us, also!!!  It takes teamwork to be successful!

All students will preview the Book Fair on Monday, Sept. 17th and make a wish list.  Our fourth and fifth grade leaders will be "scribes" for the kindergarten and first grade classes and write their lists for them.  Students should bring their money to purchase on their regular library day.  Parents and families are welcome to come to the Book Fair on Tuesday and Thursday evenings after their parent-teacher conferences.  We have volunteers helping us next week and want to thank them in advance.
