KRI (Kimmons Recycling Initiative)
In the fall of 2008, Kimmons Junior High partnered with ECCO Partners of Fort Smith to start a school-wide recycling program. Each classroom is equipped with a recycling bin designed to collect white paper, cardboard, plastic bottles, aluminum cans, and newspaper. The bins are collected and dumped once a week. The program, known throughout the school as KRI (Kimmons Recycling Initiative), was a huge success last year, and we look to continue and build upon that success both this year and in the future. The science department heads KRI, and the bins are collected each week by Mr. Jones' students.
