Administration

Ginni McDonald, Ed.D. - Principal 
Ginni McDonald, Northside High School Principal, believes that every child “can achieve academic success with high expectations, determination, persistence, collaboration and dedication to lifelong learning.” McDonald came to Fort Smith Public Schools in June 2008, after spending 11 years in the Greenwood school system. McDonald previously served as an assistant principal at Kimmons Junior High School and at Northside before being appointed principal. After graduating from high school in Horatio, Arkansas, McDonald attended Henderson State University where she obtained both her bachelor’s degree in education and her master’s degree in special education. She later completed her education specialist degree in leadership through the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville and her Doctorate in Education.

 

Chris Carter - Assistant Principal 
Chris Carter, Northside High School Assistant Principal takes great pride in seeing the students at Northside High School succeed. Carter, who previously served at Kimmons Junior High, came to the district in August 2002. Prior to his appointment at Northside, Carter taught in Fort Smith, and Fordyce, Arkansas, and Sallisaw, Oklahoma school districts. Carter, a graduate of Northside High School, completed his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education at Henderson State University.  

 

 

 

Brad Ray - Assistant Principal
Brad Ray, Northside High School Assistant Principal, believes that “a career in education gives one the opportunity to touch thousands of lives and to ensure a positive legacy.” Ray came to FSPS in 2010, serving as the Director of the Belle Point Alternative Center before assuming his role at Northside in 2013. Prior to working for the District, he spent 12 years in the Plano, Texas Independent School District and in Arkansas at Danville, Alma and Cedarville Public School Districts. Ray graduated from Fort Smith’s Southside High School and attended Ouachita Baptist University where he received his bachelor’s degree in education. He has his master’s in education from Arkansas Tech University and is currently working on his educational specialist degree. Ray is a member of ASCD and AAEA.



Jennifer Steele -
Assistant Principal
Jennifer Steele, Northside High School Assistant Principal, believes that “the best way to predict your future is to create it," and that educators have the distinct privilege and responsibility to provide students with the tools necessary to experience success in their workplaces, their families and their communities.  Steele began her educational career in the Mansfield Public Schools and has been with the Fort Smith Public Schools since 1995. Prior to her 2013 appointment at Northside, she served as Director of Bands at Chaffin Junior High. Steele graduated from Paragould High School and received her BME at Georgia Southern University and her Masters in Educational Leadership from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. She is currently pursuing her Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership from Arkansas Tech University in Russellville.
