“Ride 4 Their Lives” Visits Elementary Schools
Eleven elementary schools took part in the annual “Ride 4 Their Lives” bicycle event benefitting the Morgan Nick Foundation. On May 20, a group of more than 80 riders travelled around Fort Smith visiting schools as a way to help reinforce lessons about safety that were taught in the weeks preceding the event. Beginning at Howard Elementary School, the riders rode to Trusty, Morrison, Spradling, Orr, Sutton, Euper Lane, Woods and Fairview Elementary Schools. The group finished up their ride-by of Fort Smith Public Schools at Tilles. As the riders passed, students greeted them with signs and cheers. Four of the schools hosted parking lot parties that included games, music and giveaways. Anchors from channel five served as emcees for the event.
