Elementary Social Studies
The elementary social studies efforts, initiatives, and programs are focused on nurturing student growth in the areas of social concepts along with reading and writing, while also ensuring that quality instruction is offered in the grade level skills specified in the Arkansas Department of Education Frameworks. Elementary social studies programs are based on the approach of integration by bringing reading and writing into the social studies curriculum. Integration in social studies focuses on project-based learning and interaction among all students.
