Fort Smith Public School meals provide a healthy and affordable way to make sure your child gets the nutrients that are essential for success in school.
Studies have shown that kids who eat school meals get more calcium, protein, and vitamins, and less fat and sugar than their classmates who do not eat school meals.
Free Summer Meals
All children ages 18 and under may eat free meals at participating Fort Smith Public Schools. Free meals will be served weekdays June 1 through August 6. (No meals will be served July 5.) All children, including visitors and students enrolled at other schools, will be served at no charge. Adult meal prices: Breakfast $2.00. Lunch $3.25.

School meals are based on USDA guidelines that are consistent with the Dietary Guidelines for Americans. The meals are low in total fat, and saturated fat which is the unhealthy fat that contributes to heart disease. The meals provide no more than 30% of calories from fat, and less than 10% of calories from saturated fat. (Carbohydrate information is available on posted menus.)
Total fat not to exceed 30 percent over a school week
Saturated fat to be less than 10 percent over a school week
The grams of fat will vary depending on actual level of calories
The USDA provides menu planning guidelines, including a meal pattern for school lunches. The five required food items for daily lunch are:
One serving of meat/meat alternate
One serving of grains/breads
Two servings of vegetables (must be two different vegetables) or two servings of fruit (must be two different fruits) or one serving of each vegetable or fruit.
One serving of milk

The Fort Smith Public School District offers an easy, convenient, and secure method of managing your child’s meal account. Through EZSchoolPay, you may use your VISA or MasterCard to make payments to your child’s food service account, and check the account balance.
To open an account, click on the EZSchoolPay.com button below. You will be asked to provide your child’s last name, the zip code of your child’s school, and your child’s ID number. (ID numbers available at school office.)
