Fast Facts about Barling Elementary School
- The current Barling building was built in1974. Before that time, the elementary school was in 2 metal buildings and what is now City Hall.
- Barling Elementary was the first of four open-space classroom schools in this school system. With this distinction, the concept of community carries into the classroom.
- The school staff includes 14 regular class teachers, 2 resource room teachers, counselor, media, and reading recovery which are full-time positions. There are several part-time positions which include literacy specialist, art, music, physical education, GATE, ELA, speech and occupational therapy.
- Our enrollment in 2007-2008 was 323.
This School is accredited by the North Central Association and the Arkansas Department of Education.
