Greetings from the Principal:
While each new school year is an exciting one, this school year is unique in the fact that construction will take place starting sometime in the late fall.  Several classrooms and a new cafeteria will be built to meet the needs of our growing community. We are excited about not only expanding our size but with that our opportunities for new students, parents, community involvement, Partners-N-Education, focus and learning.

The mission of Barling Elementary School is to prepare children for the future by providing a challenging, equitable education in a safe, nurturing environment.  Our commitment is to provide each student with an opportunity to reach his/her full potential and to become good citizens.

Vision:
Barling Elementary is a place where:

  1. There are opportunities for developing critical thinking skills and decision making.
  2. Students utilize technology to enhance their learning experiences and prepare them for the future.
  3. The staff cooperates and collaborates to meet the needs of students.
  4. Good citizenship is taught, modeled and encouraged.
  5. Every child can succeed in an active learning environment.
  6. The curriculum is challenging and relevant.

Barling Elementary faculty believes:

  1. Every child will be valued as an integral part of this school community.
  2. Students and staff will be life-long learners.
  3. Every student will achieve.
  4. All students will receive instruction according to their ability level and learning styles.
  5. Family and community will be encouraged to be active partners in each student’s education, thereby increasing student achievement.
  6. Everyone will be treated with respect.
  7. Students will be provided a safe, positive, challenging and nurturing environment.
