Elementary Science
The elementary science efforts, initiatives, and programs are focused on nurturing student growth in the area of science, while also ensuring that quality instruction is offered in the grade level skills specified in the Arkansas Department of Education Science Frameworks. Elementary science efforts target inquiry-based science while emphasizing integration of math and literacy skills. Science Coaching supports teachers in identifying and implementing research-based, best practices through professional development, research, modeling, and collaborative work.

Elementary Science Task Force
Mission Statement: The science Task Force will set the direction and focus of science instruction and assessment for the development and empowerment of lifelong learners.
This is a committee comprised of elementary teachers on all grade levels who meet to address science issues. Each
of the nineteen elementary campuses is represented on this committee. This group of dedicated educators undertakes the scheduling of The Learning Institute science interim assessments win grades three, four, and five, the alignment of curriculum with these assessments, the discussion of issues that face our students and teachers, and the dissemination of program and strategy information to ensure the success of all our students.
