SWellsGreetings from the Principal:

Welcome to the 2007-2008 school year and our thirty-third year of serving the families of Fort Smith.  We are proud of our heritage and look forward to the future.  Our theme for this school year is “There’s No Place Like Woods” …come and join us and see why there is no place like Woods Elementary School.

School Poem
Oh, the Places I’ll Go!
(Adapted from Oh, the Places You’ll Go by Dr. Seuss)
Congratulations!  Today is my day.
I’m off to Great Places!  I’m off and away!
I have brains in my head.  I have feet in my shoes.
I can steer myself in any direction I choose.
I’ll be on my way up!  I’ll be seeing great sights!
I’ll join the high fliers who soar to high heights.
And when I’m alone, there’s a very good chance
I’ll meet things that scare me right out of my pants.
But on I will hike, and I know I’ll hike far
And face up to my problems, whatever they are.
I’ll get mixed up, of course, as I already know,
I’ll get mixed up with many strange birds as I go.
So I’ll be sure when I step, I’ll step with care and great tact
And remember that Life’s a Great Balancing Act.
And will I succeed?  Yes!  I will indeed!
(98 and ¾ percent guaranteed)
I PLAN TO MOVE MOUNTAINS!  Today is my day!
My mountain is waiting, so… I’m on my way!
