Southside High School hosted the 2012 "Drums on the River" percussion clinic on June 21 and 22. Sponsored by Saied Music Company, the Sounds of Summer camp included band members from around the region. 

Staff for "Drums on the River" included national clinician John Brennan. Brennan serves as the Associate Band Director at Plano East Senior High School in Plano, Texas. He also serves as there percussion consultant for the Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corps and is a battery technician for the world champion Cavaliers.

Other regional clinicians included Scott Mosby, Director of Percussion at Sallisaw High School; Dustin Chambers, Percussion Director for Van Buren High School; Dr. Josh Knight, Percussion Director at UA-Fort Smith; and Dr. Ben Finley, Director of Percussion at East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma.
