PTA Meeting Minutes

December, 2014 Meeting Minutes
PTA December 11, 2014

The Woods Elementary PTA meeting was held Thursday, December
11th at 2:00 in the cafeteria.  President
Darcy Wollscheid called the meeting to order and Morgan York led the Pledge of
Allegiance.  Davina Roper presented the November
minutes and they were approved as printed.
Katie Smith went over the budget.  We currently have $26,865.61.  The money was distributed last week for the
Christmas parties.

Committees:

Spirit Nights: We made $136.00 from the Chuck E. Cheese
night and $6 from skate night.

Christmas Parties: Parties will start at 2:15 and there
will be a Christmas assembly right before.
Please give any receipts to Darcy or Katie or put in the PTA box.

Nominating
Committee:  Davina Roper and Corrine Adams
volunteered to be on the nominating committee for next year’s PTA
officers.  We need 3 or 4 members and one
should be a teacher.

Founder’s Day
Committee: Founder’s
Day will be Feb. 19th.  The
committee will be Elizabeth Thames, Stacy Stites, and Corrine Adams.

Playground Update:  The total cost will be approximately $39,000.  We are currently able to pay $19,000. We will
have a candy bar fundraiser. The idea of another fundraiser later in the spring
was suggested by Morgan York, whose family owns Art’s Barbeque.  The idea is for Woods to receive $10 for
every rack of ribs sold.  Drew Waack made
a motion for Woods to participate in a fundraiser with Art’s Barbecue.  The motion was adopted.

Box Tops:  Box Tops will be collected next week.   Trish Jennings, the Director of Activities
and Marketing at Butterfield Assisted Living, came to tell everyone how much
the residents enjoy helping our school by cutting/trimming our box tops.

New Business:

Tonight is Goody’s spirit night from 3-7 and we get 10% of
sales.

Everyone was introduced to Mrs. Wiley, our new principal
beginning in January until the end of the year.

The meeting was adjourned at 2:45pm
