The Woods Elementary PTA meeting was held Thursday, January 8th at 2:00 in the cafeteria.  President Darcy Wollscheid called the meeting to order and led the Pledge of Allegiance.  Davina Roper presented the December minutes and they were approved as printed.   Darcy Wollscheid discussed the Treasurer report.  We do not have to pay for the playground equipment until it is delivered, which will be approximately the end of February.

Spirit Nights:  January 14th will be Goody’s spirit night.  Chick Fila spirit night will be January 22nd.  There is no skate night during January.  Larry’s pizza night is moved to February 26th.
Founder’s Day Committee:  It will be February 19th.  There was no report.
Spring Fundraisers: Discussed doing candy bar sales and finding a new representative.
Nacho Night:  It will be on March 17th and will be combined with parent/teacher conferences and the book fair.
Carnival: It will be April 24th from 6-8pm outside like last year.  We need to call SHS and NHS honor society and Chaffin Charmers to ask for volunteers soon.  We will call another company besides Kids Play for the inflatable equipment. We discussed calling the Army recruiter for the rock wall, as well as talking to someone for a season pass for the waterpark to use for a raffle item. Mrs. Massey said she would volunteer to call corporate sponsors.  We decided to eliminate hot dogs, but use Geno’s pizza and possibly Chick Fila.
Field Day: It will be May 22nd.  Woods will provide a sack lunch or kids can bring their own lunch.
Box Tops: We received a check.
6th Grade Party:  We need to set a date soon.
