Students are considered tardy at 8:05 a.m.

School dismisses at 3:00 p.m.

Breakfast begins promptly at 7:30 a.m. and ends promptly at 7:55 a.m.
Breakfast is free for all students.

Lunch is served at the following times:
Lunch Period 1 - 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Grades 2 and 3 

Lunch Period 2 - 11:35 a.m. - 12:35 p.m.
Grades 6, Pre-K, and McCabe

Lunch Period 3 - 12:05 p.m. - 1:05 p.m.
Grades Kindergarten and 1

Lunch Period 4 - 12:40 p.m.-1:40
Grades 4 and 5

Lunch is $2.25 per day for students, $3.50 for adults, and $3.75 for guests.

Wake Up Woods is every Friday morning in the cafeteria- parents are welcome and encouraged to attend.

PTA September 10, 2015

The Woods Elementary PTA meeting was held Thursday, September 10, 2015 at 2:05 in the cafeteria.  President Corrine Adams called the meeting to order and Penney Davis led the Pledge of Allegiance.  There were no April minutes to be approved.  Quyen Scott went over the treasurer’s report and budget then reminded everyone that the goal is to pay off the remaining balance for the new playground equipment of $15,000.  A vote and motion were made to approve the set budget for the year of 2015-2016. 

Fall Fundraiser: Everyone please continue to sell cookie dough.  It ends September 15th.  Orders will arrive in October.  A pizza party will be an incentive to sale.

Hospitality:  Picnic lunch was provided for the staff at the beginning of the year.  Discussion was made about giving the teachers/staff supper during October conference week.

Membership:  Classes with 100% participation by September 18th will win a popsicle party for the entire class.  If the entire student body reaches 90%, all students in classes that reach 100% participation will be entered into a drawing to throw pies into Mrs. Schwartz’s face or other available classroom teachers.

Tailgate Party: It is set for September 18th.  We will need volunteers to help and serve.  An information sheet went home in Tuesday’s folder.  Volunteers need to arrive at 5:00.  Event is from 6:00-8:00.  UAFS Basketball team will be featured.

Trunk or Treat:  It will be October 23rd.  We discussed not having food but possibly
adding larger sized candy and sodas.  Homeroom moms and parents are encouraged to decorate their cars to hand out candy from and for a contest.  PTA will help provide candy.  Mrs. Hill will be asked to play festive music.

Homeroom Parents:  Vanessa Smitherman will contact teachers about their assigned homeroom parents.

Spirit Nights:  Katie Smith has planned Chick Fil A for October 6th and Flame Gymnastics November 6th.

Skate Night:  It is the 1st Thursday of each month.  Last skate night we made:  $102.00

Patriot of the Month:  September 25th is first Patriot of the Month.  Jennifer Atchley will get the t-shirts to the students that receive the nominations each month.

Spirit Week:  Georgia Castling shared possible ideas/themes for each day.  Approval will have to be made by Mrs. Schwartz.

Yearbook:  Order forms were sent home by Janelle Farris.  Please remember to take pictures at events throughout the year and upload them on Replayit.com or download the app.

Deadline to order yearbooks is December 18th.

New Business:  PTA shirts are under way for $15.  Davina Roper has volunteered to organize movie night.  In the fall, Ms. Beck will need volunteers to paint the playground map. PTA will reapply for Lowe’s grant to help with the playground.
