Students are considered tardy at 8:05 a.m.

School dismisses at 3:00 p.m.

Breakfast begins promptly at 7:30 a.m. and ends promptly at 7:55 a.m.
Breakfast is free for all students.

Lunch is served at the following times:
Lunch Period 1 - 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Grades 2 and 3 

Lunch Period 2 - 11:35 a.m. - 12:35 p.m.
Grades 6, Pre-K, and McCabe

Lunch Period 3 - 12:05 p.m. - 1:05 p.m.
Grades Kindergarten and 1

Lunch Period 4 - 12:40 p.m.-1:40
Grades 4 and 5

Lunch is $2.25 per day for students, $3.50 for adults, and $3.75 for guests.

Wake Up Woods is every Friday morning in the cafeteria- parents are welcome and encouraged to attend.

January 2016 Meeting Minutes

PTA January 7, 2016

The Woods Elementary PTA meeting was held Thursday, January 7th at 2:00 in the

President Corrine Adams called the meeting to order and Penney Davis led the Pledge of Allegiance.  Kelly Jacimore presented the December minutes and they were approved as printed. 

Corrine Adams discussed the Treasurer report in place of treasurer Quyen Scott.  Our balance is $16,000 plus.  PTA purchased stability balls/frisbees for Mrs. Howald’s fourth grade class during the December break.

Spirit Night: 
Katie Smith has planned 2 upcoming 
events:  Goody’s January 13 and Flame Gymnastics January 22.

Founder’s Day- February 16th: 
Theme:  Celebrate Through the Decades. 
Mrs. Hill is planning the entertainment with her students.  Please give Darcy
Wollscheid and Stacy Stites suggestions to nominate by next Monday the 11th and with a solid reason to nominate the person.  Darcy and Stacy are planning the night’s events and refreshments.
Quyen Scott has planned a February 5th candy bar kick off.  Families are encouraged to sign permission slips before sales are made.

Nacho Night:
March 5th in conjunction with conferences/book fair.  Teachers will receive free food.  Elizabeth Thames is in need of volunteers to help serve food and collect money.

Corrine Adams will contact Extreme Carnival for quotes on inflatables.  Plans are underway to keep food sales the same as last year:  Geno’s Pizza, American Cookie Co., and Art’s BBQ. 
Darcy Wollscheid and Janelle Farris are not accepting any more forms or ads.  180 copies have been sold.  Extra copies will be sold at the end of the year for a higher cost.  Continue to upload group class photos to: replayit.com until January. 

6th Grade Party:
Darcy and Janelle are in the process of planning the party which has been changed from May 19th to May 17th.

Box Tops:
Corrine Adams has emailed teachers letting them know to please send their class box tops to the PTA box by February 1st. 

6th Grade Dinner:
Corrine and Georgia Castling are making plans for the night on May 17th.  Some ideas are:  slide show, photo booth,  students will write letters to their parents, cafeteria ladies will cook the meal, awards will be handed out, students vote on a theme for the night, and 2 guests for every student.  Note the night has been changed from the 19th to 17th of May.

Nominating Committee:
Mrs, Howald is representing the teachers.  Elections for nominating committee 2016-2017
will be to fill president and secretary.

New Business:  

1.) Ms. Solley’s Student Council will be making plans to sell carnations during
Valentine’s week. Please no outside floral deliveries.
2.) A January hot chocolate bar is being planned for the staff as a winter treat.
3.) January 22 - Vanessa Smitherman will be distributing Valentine party money to homeroom moms.
