Students are considered tardy at 8:05 a.m.

School dismisses at 3:00 p.m.

Breakfast begins promptly at 7:30 a.m. and ends promptly at 7:55 a.m.
Breakfast is free for all students.

Lunch is served at the following times:
Lunch Period 1 - 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Grades 2 and 3 

Lunch Period 2 - 11:35 a.m. - 12:35 p.m.
Grades 6, Pre-K, and McCabe

Lunch Period 3 - 12:05 p.m. - 1:05 p.m.
Grades Kindergarten and 1

Lunch Period 4 - 12:40 p.m.-1:40
Grades 4 and 5

Lunch is $2.25 per day for students, $3.50 for adults, and $3.75 for guests.

Wake Up Woods is every Friday morning in the cafeteria- parents are welcome and encouraged to attend.

September, 2014 Meeting Minutes

PTA September 11, 2014   

The Woods Elementary PTA meeting was held Thursday, September 11 at 2:05 in the cafeteria.  President Darcy Wollscheid called the meeting to order and Morgan York led the Pledge of Allegiance.  After introductions were made, Davina Roper presented the April minutes and they were approved as printed.   Katie Smith went over the budget and reminded everyone that the goal is to raise money for new playground equipment.              

Committees:   

Box Tops:  Mrs. Isaacs will let us know how the money will be distributed to teachers.     

Fall Fundraiser:  Everyone please continue to sell and don’t forget we can sell items online.  It ends on Tuesday, please send in order form and money.  Orders will arrive in October, you will be notified of what day they will arrive. 

Hospitality:  Wipeboards were given to teachers at the beginning of the year. 

Membership:  Currently we are at 274 members.  Mrs. Gooch’s class has the most, 2nd and  4th graders have the least amount of memberships so far.

Tailgate Party:  It is set for September 19th.  We will need volunteers to wrap hot dogs and serve.  An information sheet will go out in Tuesday’s folder.  Volunteers need to arrive at 5:00. 

Trunk or Treat:  It will be October 24th.  We discussed not having food or drinks, but possibly adding contests.

Homeroom Parents:  Emails will be sent out to teachers to get information on parents who signed up. 

Spirit Nights:  Larry’s Pizza will host on January 8th.  It will be from 5-close and will have a tip jar.  Goody’s will let us know which Thursday of the month.  Chuck E. Cheese will be on November 20th.  We will get 15% of what is spent.  We will know soon when spirit night will be at Chick-Fila. 

Skate Night:   It is the 1st Thursday of every month.  For the first 50 people, we receive $1 a ticket, after 50 we receive $2 a ticket.  Last skate night we made $134.00.

Patriot of the Month:  Corrine volunteered to chair.  Group pictures will be taken instead of individual pictures.

Walk on the Wild Side Fundraiser:  We discussed the idea of another fundraiser.  The PE teacher, Coach Brown, will help and it was discussed that having it during a school day would improve participation. The idea is to incorporate sponsorship and student physical activity to raise money.    

Yearbook:  Order forms will go home next week.  The art teacher, Mrs. Beck, will be in charge this year, as well as a committee of 6th graders.  Please remember to take pictures at events and upload them on Replayit.com or download the app. 

New Business: 

  • After discussing pros and cons, it was a unanimous vote approving the purchase of an ipad for the new kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Kesner.She is the only teacher who does not have one since a new class was added this year.
  • Benchmark Recognition is Friday, September 19th from 1:30-3. We need volunteers to serve popcorn and sodas.Volunteers need to arrive at 1:20.
  • Darcy will meet with a company next Wednesday to discuss new playground equipment.

Volunteer Hours: Please make sure to keep track and turn in all volunteer hours (hours which are not recorded in the front office).  You can email them to Janelle Farris at danner09@att.net
