Woods Elementary School

Greetings from the Principal:

Welcome to Woods Elementary School and our thirty-eighth year of serving the families of Fort Smith.  We are proud of our heritage and look forward to the future.  Woods Elementary has smart students, excellent teachers, interested staff, involved parents, and a caring atmosphere.  We are committed to our mission statement:

Woods School - A safe place where we work, think, and learn together for success in tomorrow's world.

Our theme for the 2013-2014 school year is:
Building and Growing Together

Our theme this year is "Growing and Building Together". Woods Elementary is under construction with additions of a new office area as well as eight classrooms and modifications in the existing classrooms. While construction can be messy and chaotic, we keep the end in mind which will be a beautiful building with new office areas, classrooms, additional bookcases and storage, bright and cheery paint colors and carpet.

A new drive is expected to be completed in the spring so we will have a new traffic pattern for students to be dropped off and picked up. Parents and visitors will enter the drive between Woods Elementary and Chaffin Junior High. Parking will be between the two buildings. The temporary entrance is a side door in front of the cafeteria facing north. Further information will be sent home for our new procedures. Parents, we thank you in advance for working with us to make this transition as smooth as possible. We invite you to come see our progress as we grow and build together.
