    DUE APRIL 1, 2025:

    BLG AASA Scholarship Application

Benny L. Gooden, Superintendent of Fort Smith Public Schools from 1986 to 2016, served as President of the American Association of School Administrators (AASA) in 2012-2013. In consideration of service to the association, an honorarium was paid to the Fort Smith Public Schools. Dr. Gooden recommended, and the Fort Smith Board of Education approved, establishing the Benny L. Gooden AASA Scholarship fund with the Fort Smith Public Schools Foundation. A matching contribution from the Windgate Foundation and continuing contributions from Dr. Gooden have made it possible for the scholarship to be endowed for perpetuity. The number and amounts of scholarships will be determined annually depending upon the earnings of the endowment.

Scholarship awards are made on behalf of Sam T. Sicard and in memory of Dr. Randy Bridges from the application pool collected each year. Selection criteria for these awards may vary from list above.
