Camps and Programs for Gold Star Children and Military Survivor Families

Fort Smith Public Schools is pleased to share information provided by the Arkansas Department of Education regarding camps, programs, and resources available to Gold Star children and military survivor families.

Information about available opportunities can be found in the Camps and Programs for Gold Star Children and Military Survivor Families resource list. These programs offer a variety of experiences, including summer camps, family events, retreats, recreational activities, and ongoing support throughout the year.

While many of the opportunities listed are summer programs, several organizations provide year-round services and experiences. For example, the Gary Sinise Foundation offers a variety of programs and opportunities designed to support surviving military families beyond the summer months.

The Arkansas Department of Education continues to identify and compile resources that may benefit military survivor families and will add opportunities as they become available. The goal is to provide families with helpful resources that encourage connection, support, healing, and memorable experiences throughout the year.
