NMFA Operation Purple Camp Summer 2026
Operation Purple® Camp – Free Summer Camp for Military Kids!
It’s officially time to apply for Operation Purple® Camp Summer 2026!
This FREE one-week camp is designed exclusively for military-connected kids and offers an unforgettable experience filled with outdoor adventures, special events, and meaningful connections with other military kids who understand the military life journey.
From swimming and gaga ball to confidence-building activities and community connection, Operation Purple Camp celebrates the belief that Military Kids Serve Too®.
🔹 Who Can Apply?
Military-connected kids from all service branches, including active duty and veteran families, are eligible.
🔹 Camp Locations
Hosted at ten locations nationwide across nine weeks this summer.
🔹 Application Deadline
Applications are open now through March 11.
(Applications received after March 11 will be placed on the waitlist.)
🔹 Virtual Option
No camp near you? The Operation Purple Summer Challenge offers military families around the globe the opportunity to connect, have fun, and try new activities from home. Registration opens in March and is available to all who sign up.
What is Operation Purple® Camp?
Founded in 2004 by the National Military Family Association (NMFA), Operation Purple Camp was created because Military Kids Serve Too®.
Since its founding:

70,480 military kids have attended Operation Purple Camp locations worldwide.

9,996 military kids have participated in the Operation Purple Summer Challenge.
NMFA enhances the traditional camp experience with intentional skill-building, resilience development, and connection with peers who share military life experiences. Campers and families are also connected to additional resources, such as support from mental health professionals and trained camp staff to ensure a safe, supportive environment.
