Employees at Fort Smith Public Schools Pledge More Than $38,000 for United Way

Fort Smith Public Schools is proud to announce the results of this year's United Way Pledge Challenge, an internal, districtwide effort to support the United Way of Fort Smith and give back to the community.

Throughout the challenge, employees at district departments and schools competed to see who could pledge the most money. More than $38,000 was pledged districtwide, with 100% of the funds supporting our local community. The following were named winners.

  • District Department Winner: The FSPS Finance Department led the way with 100 percent of its team pledging $1,222.
  • Elementary School Winner: Staff at Carnall Elementary School had 100 percent staff participation, pledging $2,253.
  • Secondary School Winner: Kimmons Middle School staff, at 100 percent, pledged $3,383.

“I am extremely proud of the FSPS team for giving back to the community,” FSPS Superintendent Martin Mahan said. “Team members pledged $5,000 more this year than last year, and their generosity will have a meaningful impact on the students who receive critical services from United Way.”

“On behalf of our team at United Way, congratulations to all of this year’s Fort Smith Public Schools campaign award recipients and a sincere thank you to everyone who participated,” said Shea Foldvary, President and CEO of United Way of Fort Smith. “Your generosity to United Way makes a real, lasting impact in our community.”
