Fort Smith Public Schools Foundation Honors Outstanding Educators, Staff with Quarterly Awards

The Fort Smith Public Schools Foundation is pleased to announce the second quarter recipients of the Quarterly Employee Recognition Awards, honoring district educators and staff who exemplify the values of leadership, kindness, and excellence in education.

“The Fort Smith Public Schools Foundation is proud to celebrate the incredible individuals who go above and beyond for our students and schools,” David Humphrey, the foundation president, said. “These award recipients reflect the commitment, compassion, and professionalism that make our district strong.”

Recipients for the second quarter are listed below. 

  • Ignite Award: Bethany Beshears, First-Grade Teacher, Cavanaugh Elementary School
  • Kind Counts Award: Trisha Yepez, Counselor, Southside High School 
  • Every Day Leader Award: Payton Goins, Instructional Specialist, Morrison Elementary School

Nominations in the following categories are accepted quarterly from district staff, students, parents, and community members, ensuring that all employees have the opportunity to be recognized for their impact and dedication.

  • Ignite Award: recognizes employees with five or fewer years of service who are igniting passion and purpose within their schools.
  • Kind Counts Award: celebrates employees who lead with kindness and build positive, supportive relationships.
  • Every Day Leader Award: honors employees who consistently demonstrate leadership through their daily actions and commitment to excellence.
