FSPS Announces New Administrators for 2025-2026
Fort Smith Public Schools (FSPS) is pleased to announce the selection of new FSPS administrators for the 2025-2026 school year:
 
Josh Fonville – Assistant Principal, Chaffin Middle School
Josh Fonville has been selected as an Assistant Principal for Chaffin Middle School. He currently serves as a teacher and Dean of Students for Rogers High School. Mr. Fonville has previously served as a teacher and coach in Farmington, Sheridan, Bryant, and Fort Smith at Kimmons Middle School. Mr. Fonville holds a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Arkansas Tech University.

Courtney Freeman – Assistant Principal, Ballman Elementary
Courtney Freeman has been selected as the Assistant Principal of Ballman Elementary School. She currently serves as an elementary music teacher in the Van Buren School District and previously taught music in Mulberry. Ms. Freeman holds a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Arkansas State University.

Dana Hotho – Assistant Principal, Cavanaugh Elementary
Dana Hotho has been selected as the Assistant Principal of Cavanaugh Elementary School. She currently serves as a Special Education teacher in Hot Springs. Ms. Hotho has also worked as an adjunct instructor at Henderson State University and as a Special Education teacher in the Bryant School District. She holds an Educational Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from Arkansas State University.

Susan Lockhart – Assistant Principal, Sutton Elementary
Susan Lockhart has been selected as the Assistant Principal of Sutton Elementary School. She currently works as an educational consultant and has previously served as an elementary teacher and instructional facilitator in the Van Buren School District. Ms. Lockhart holds a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Arkansas State University.

Dr. Nancy Young – Assistant Principal, Beard Elementary
Dr. Nancy Young has been selected as the Assistant Principal of Beard Elementary School. She currently serves as an instructor and postdoctoral researcher at the University of Arkansas. Her prior experience includes teaching at the elementary and middle school levels in Booneville, Van Buren, and Fort Smith. Dr. Young holds a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Arkansas.

Nathaniel Williams - Supervisor of Child Nutrition
Nathan Williams has been selected as the Supervisor of Child Nutrition. He currently serves as an exercise physiologist and has previously also been a personal trainer. Mr. Williams holds a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from the Hardin-Simmons University in Texas and has over 20 years of experience in nutrition, wellness, and health management.
 
Tyler Armstrong - Director of Community Engagement
Tyler Armstrong has been selected as the Director of Community Engagement for the Office of Communications and Engagement and under the Chief Communications and Engagement Officer. He is currently the Pro Bono Coordinator at The Center for Arkansas Legal Services. He also serves as a volunteer coordinator for the Fort Smith International Film Festival. Mr. Armstrong has a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing from the University of Arkansas Fort Smith and has over 5 years experience leading outreach initiatives and building partnerships that increase access to services and community engagement.
