FSPS Board of Education Selects Three Finalists for Superintendent Position

The FSPS Board of Education met during a special called meeting on March 19, and they selected three finalists for the Superintendent position at Fort Smith Public Schools (FSPS).  These finalists include the following:

  • Mr. Jason Black, Deputy Superintendent, Conway Public School District

  • Ms. Anne Martfeld, Assistant Superintendent, Pea Ridge School District

  • Mr. Martin Mahan, Deputy Superintendent, Fort Smith Public Schools

“These finalists represent a great pool of experienced educators who were interested in being the next Superintendent of Fort Smith Public Schools.  The Board of Education is excited to welcome each of these finalists to Fort Smith to learn more about them and what they could bring to the District Superintendent position,” FSPS Board of Education President Dalton Person said.

The FSPS Board of Education will interview these finalists the first week of April in hopes of naming the next Superintendent of Fort Smith Public Schools by mid-April.  The FSPS Board of Education thanks District employees and the Fort Smith community for their continued feedback and support.
