Mr. Mahan Names Dr. Bone as Deputy Superintendent

Fort Smith, AR—Acting Superintendent Martin Mahan selects Dr. Tiffany Bone as Deputy Superintendent for Fort Smith Public Schools (FSPS).  After the FSPS Board of Education’s confirmation of Bone tonight, she will assume the role effective July 1, 2025.

“Fort Smith Public Schools is one of the greatest, if not the greatest, school districts in Arkansas, and as such it needs an experienced Deputy Superintendent to impact the lives of students and staff.  Dr. Bone represents a leader who can bring significant experience and leadership to the Deputy Superintendent role. I have the utmost respect and confidence in Dr. Bone to lead during this critical time at FSPS.  I am grateful for Dr. Bone’s willingness to serve FSPS,”   FSPS Acting Superintendent Martin Mahan said.

Dr. Bone has served as Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction for four years at FSPS.  She has served in various administrative roles: Assistant Superintendent of Jacksonville North Pulaski School District and Assistant Superintendent for Learning Services at Pine Bluff School District.  She was an administrator in Bryant Public Schools and Hope Public Schools.  Dr. Bone holds a Doctorate of School Leadership from Arkansas Tech University Center for Leadership and Learning.  She also has an Education Specialist Certificate in Educational Leadership, a Master of Science in Education, and Bachelor of Science from Henderson State University.

“I am incredibly grateful and deeply honored to be selected as the next Deputy Superintendent of Fort Smith Public Schools. Since joining this district in 2021, FSPS has held a special place in my heart, and I am thrilled to continue serving a community that values education and the success of every student. I am especially excited to keep working alongside Mr. Mahan, whose leadership and vision for our district inspire me every day. His unwavering commitment to our schools sets the standard for excellence, and I am proud to be part of that journey. I believe in the limitless potential of every student, knowing that when they feel they belong in a community that supports and empowers them, they can become the leaders, innovators, and change-makers of tomorrow. Together—with dedicated staff, engaged families, and a supportive community—we are committed to creating an environment where students are inspired to dream big, achieve more, and shape their own futures,” FSPS Incoming Deputy Superintendent Dr. Tiffany Bone said.

Please join FSPS in welcoming Dr. Bone as its new Deputy Superintendent. The district looks forward to Bone’s leadership under Acting Superintendent Mahan.
