As the Chief Communications and Engagement Officer for Fort Smith Public Schools, Allan R. Marshall MEd CFRM oversees the Office of Communications and Engagement, which includes communications, marketing, the FSPS Foundation, and the Partners in Education Program. He also serves as the school system's chief spokesperson.

He has spent 18 years in nonprofit management and education and raised over $100 million in philanthropy during his career.  Upon graduating from Baylor University, Allan started as Director of Community Development at the Greater Waco Chamber of Commerce. He created K-12 education programs, built relationships with area school districts, and promoted fundraising opportunities.  Allan’s additional professional experiences included subsequent roles at private institutions of higher learning, a Power 5 Conference university, and a nationally and internationally recognized liberal arts institution.  Most recently, Allan served as the Executive Director of Advancement at Arkansas Colleges of Health Education (ACHE), overseeing the Office of Advancement and Alumni Engagement.

A career achievement for Allan was working for a U.S. presidential family, the Bush Family, where he served as Chief Development Officer for the Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation.  He raised monies for literacy programs, developed corporate partnerships and built additional strategies for community support to honor the indelible legacy of Former First Lady Barbara Bush.  Allan served as an intern for a Former U.S. Congressman, Former Texas State Representative, and Former Dallas City Councilman.

Honors and awards have included being awarded “2023 Men of Distinction” in a statewide publication, AY Magazine, in Arkansas.  As a student at Baylor, Allan was elected Student Body External Vice President – a student body officer position.  He was the second minority student to serve as a student body officer at Baylor.  During this time, Allan was awarded a city proclamation in Waco for his work encouraging student participation in the city.  He also published an article in the Journal of Mental Health Training, Education, and Practice alongside a graduate-level professor and mentor.

Community involvement has included Leadership Fort Smith, the Fort Smith Chamber of Commerce Education Committee, the Fort Smith Symphony Board of Directors, and Leadership Southwest Dallas. Professional development has included membership in the Council for Advancement and Support Education (CASE) and the National Charitable Gift Planners and Grants Professional Association.

Allan earned his bachelor’s degree in political science and minors in public relations and religion from Baylor University, and he obtained a Master of Education in Higher Education Administration from Dallas Baptist University.  Allan also attained a Certificate in Fund Raising Management (CFRM) from Indiana University’s Lilly Family School of Philanthropy, where he served as a guest lecturer and an adjunct faculty member.  Allan is married, and he has a son.

Addie Reith joined the district’s Communication Team in 2018 as a Communications Specialist.  In this role, she manages the Superintendent’s Star program and monthly board recognitions. 

Addie uses her diverse skillset by writing press releases and developing content for the district’s website and social media platforms.  She plays a vital role on the Communications team, often serving as the “go-to” resource for the district’s internal stakeholders. If Addie is asked about something and doesn’t know the answer, she will employ her strong research skills and technical abilities to deliver that answer.  

Addie is inclusive at heart and believes in making a difference in our district offices and on our campuses through the work she does every day. Her favorite thing about working in the district is being able to visit schools and seeing students across the district excel.

Earlier, her role at the district included work with Community Partnerships and the district’s Foundation, where she helped with scholarships for students and grants for teachers. While working with the district’s Partners in Education, she gained relationship-building skills and community exposure. 

Addie supplements her educational growth in school communications through active membership with the National School Public Relations Association (NPSPRA) and ArkaNSPRA.

She is a Fort Smith native and a graduate of Northside High School.  In 2018, she graduated from the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith with a Bachelor’s degree in Rhetoric and Writing and a Minor in Media Communications. Learn more about Addie on LinkedIn.

Brianna Hunter

Brianna Hunter joined the FSPS Communications Team as a Communications Specialist in November 2023. She enjoys tackling impactful projects and achieving shared success. 

Previously, Brianna worked as the Creative Director for Chamber Fayetteville. In her role at the Chamber, she designed and built a new, streamlined, easy-to-use website and oversaw the company’s digital media. Using her photography and videography skills, Brianna shot and edited photos and videos for events and marketing efforts. She also managed social media platforms and designed marketing content, event and membership graphics, and informational documents for Chamber Fayetteville and its affiliated brands.

Brianna earned a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Arkansas with a major in Marketing. During her undergraduate studies, she participated in the Walton College Honors Program. As part of her Honors College studies, Brianna undertook a thesis research project titled “Public Perception of Foster Care in the State of Arkansas.” Combining her passions for marketing and children in foster care, Brianna collected and analyzed data about the general public’s attitudes towards foster children, foster parents, and the foster system as a whole. She then identified barriers preventing people from getting involved and made recommendations for addressing those barriers. Brianna was awarded a State Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) Grant to execute her research. 

Brianna is a devoted wife and mother. In her spare time, she enjoys arts and crafts, DIY projects, and houseplants.
