Accessing Public Records – Your Right to Information

Fort Smith Public Schools values transparency and provides access to public records in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). FOIA empowers citizens to request and review public documents, helping to create an informed community. Here, you’ll find guidelines and forms to help you access the information you need.

How to Submit a FOIA Request

The Communications Department manages all public records requests for the school district. We are dedicated to providing public records access in a responsible and lawful manner. Please allow sufficient time for us to process your request in full. To request access to public records, please follow these steps:

  1. Prepare Your Request

    • Include your name, contact information, and a detailed description of the records you are seeking.
    • Being specific about the documents or information needed will help us process your request promptly.
