Free, Unlimited Tutoring - Anytime, Anywhere

Fort Smith Public School District provides all students with free, unlimited tutoring support through Pear Deck Tutor. This 24/7 service connects students with a network of over 15,000 tutors to help in multiple subjects and languages, ensuring that support is always available when they need it most.

Tutoring Features

Interactive Learning Space

Students can work one-one-one with tutors in an interactive online space that includes:

  • Real-time text editing for writing support
  • Virtual whiteboards for solving problems collaboratively
  • Audio and video chat for direct communication
  • Screen sharing to walk through solutions together. 

Writing Lab

Students can submit essays, papers, and other writing assignments for detailed feedback from writing experts. Responses arrive within hours, helping students strengthen their writing skills and refine their assignments.

ACT Preparation Course

FSPS students also have free access to an online ACT prep course featuring:

  • 10+ hours of video lessons

  • 500+ practice questions

Available on any device at any time, the course is designed to build confidence in test content and strategies.

Accessing Tutoring Support

Our 24/7 tutoring platform is a powerful resource, designed to help FSPS students succeed in any subject. The platform isn't just for students- parents can use it to guide and support their children’s learning, while FSPS staff can integrate the tool into classroom instruction to extend learning opportunities.

 

Getting Started

Logging in is easy! Just use your district-issued Clever account or log in to Pear Deck Tutor directly using your Google credentials.

Connecting with a Live Tutor

  1. Launch the platform
  2. Select "Request a Live Tutor"
  3. Answer a few simple questions to match you with the best tutor for you.  
  4. Click "Request a Tutor" to submit. Please note that it may take a couple of minutes to find a match. 
  5. Once paired, you'll be taken to a Lesson Space with all the tools you need, including text editing, virtual whiteboards, and video chat. 

Connecting with a Live Tutor

  1. Launch the platform
  2. Click on "Submit Your Writing Assignment."
  3. Follow the on-screen prompts to provide details about your assignment, so your tutor can give feedback aligned with your assignment requirements.
  4. Upload a .docx file of your assignment and submit your request.
  5. upload a .docx version of your assignment, and submit your request.
  6. You’ll receive a notification within a few hours when a tutor has reviewed your work. To view their feedback, go to "My Tutoring History" in your student dashboard.
