Community Service Graduation Requirements

• 1993 - AR Act 648 created optional Community Service Learning (CSL)

• 2018 - AR school report cards began including points for CSL

• 2023 - AR Act 237, the LEARNS Act, ends the old program

• 2023 - AR Act 237, requires service for the Class of 2027 and beyond

Students in the Class of 2027 and beyond are now required to complete community service to earn a high school diploma in Arkansas (Act 237 of 2023, pages 38-39).  The law includes that students will earn 15 hours of community service in 9th grade, and 20 hours of community service in each of the years for grades 10, 11, and 12 to equal 75 hours of service required for graduation. Students will get more information in presentations at school.

1. Students plan and complete work connected to the curriculum and approved by parents.
2. Students record work hours using the MobileServe App.
3. Logging hours on MoblieServe
4. The Volunteer Hours are automatically submitted to the School Coordinators
