After School Care
Supervised Program In a Caring Environment (SPICE)
Nurturing Growth Beyond the Classroom
The SPICE program is a non-profit, self-supporting childcare program designed for elementary-age students and parents in the Fort Smith Public Schools. Currently available at eight FSPS elementary schools—Barling, Bonneville, Cavanaugh, Cook, Euper Lane, Fairview, Orr, and Woods—SPICE ensures a seamless transition from the school day to a supportive, enriching environment.
Operating in alignment with the school calendar, SPICE runs daily from the end of the school day until 6:00 p.m., offering a dependable and convenient option for working parents. Our program extends the essential aspects of a child's educational experience by providing a familiar, comfortable setting with friendly staff and peers they already know and trust.
Growing Bright Futures Beyond the Bell
The SPICE program offers an informal and unique environment where children of different ages can live, learn, and grow together. While maintaining a structured setting to ensure order and safety, SPICE provides children with the freedom to make choices and engage in both group and independent activities. The foundation of SPICE is built upon the following goals:
- Providing a Safe Environment
- Offering Creative and Recreational Activities
- Promoting Self-Esteem and Positive Attitudes
- Encouraging Social Growth
Register your child to give them a fun, safe, and enriching after-school experience that nurtures their growth and development.
