• Dr. Doug Brubaker Dr. Doug Brubaker has served as Superintendent of Fort Smith Public Schools since January 18, 2017. Over a career spanning 22 years, he has served in a variety of leadership roles in school districts ranging in size from 7,000 to 60,000 students.  As Superintendent of Fort Smith Public Schools, Dr. Brubaker launched the District’s Vision 2023 Strategic Planning initiative and worked with students, parents, educators, members of the community and the FSPS Board of Education to prioritize the District’s greatest needs for a millage referendum in May 2018.

    Dr. Brubaker earned a doctorate in educational computing with a concentration in educational administration from the University of North Texas, a master's degree in education from Texas Christian University and a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Kansas.

    Brubaker and his wife, Heather, will celebrate their 20th anniversary in June. They have a six-year-old daughter who attends kindergarten in the District.
