Darby Students Advance to National HOSA Medical Terminology Competition
Three 6th Grade Darby Health Sciences Academy students competed in the Arkansas HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) Medical Terminology Competition and will now advance to the National HOSA Medical Terminology Competition. At the state competition, students took a very difficult written test of 121 multiple choice questions covering an array of medical terminology such as prefixes, suffixes, roots and anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology and occupations related to the health field.
The National HOSA Medical Terminlogy Competition will be held virtually at the HOSA 2021 International Leadership Conferene June 23-26, 2021.
The Arkansas State HOSA Awards Ceremony willl be held virtually on April 22, 2021.
HOSA is a global student-led organization recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Department of Health and Human Services and several federal and state agencies. HOSA’s mission is to empower HOSA-Future Health Professionals to become leaders in the global health community, through education, collaboration, and experience.
